Timber Creek takes over top spot

1. Timber Creek (3-0) – The Chargers jump up from No. 2 in the inaugural poll last week after an impressive 35-28 win over Cherokee. Timber Creek hits the road for the first time with a game at Clearview Friday night.

2. St. Joseph (2-0) – The Wildcats move up seven spots following their statement-making 42-26 win over previously top-ranked Holy Spirit. St. Joseph, which has scored over 40 points in two wins, plays at Absegami Friday night.

3. Millville (2-0) – The Bolts, which have outscored their two opponents 88-21, stay at No. 3. Millville will face its toughest opponent to date with a trip to play at No. 6 St. Augustine Friday night.

4. Woodrow Wilson (2-0) – The Tigers remain at No. 4 with a 47-7 win over Northern Burlington. Wilson, which beat Highland in its opener, plays at home Saturday at noon against Bishop Eustace.

5. Vineland (2-0) – The Fighting Clan rounds out the top five for the second-straight week after another resounding win. Vineland, which has only allowed 14 points while scoring 88, plays at Egg Harbor Saturday night.

6. St. Augustine (2-1) – The Hermits move up one spot with their second-straight win after losing their opener to powerful Malvern Prep (Pa.). St. Augustine stays at home against No. 3 Millville Friday night.

7. Cherokee (1-1) – The Chiefs only drop one spot after a tough loss at Timber Creek. Cherokee, which defeated Shawnee in its opener in overtime, travels to Kingsway Friday.

8. Holy Spirit (1-1) – The Spartans drop seven places from the No. 1 ranking after losing at home to St. Joseph. Holy Spirit looks to rebound at Lower Cape May on Friday night.

9. Camden Catholic  (2-0) – The Irish drop one spot, being passed over by St. Joseph after the Wildcats big win and despite having allowed just one touchdown this season. Camden Catholic, which has outscored opponents 80-6, plays at Winslow Township Friday night.

10. Rancocas Valley (2-0) – The Red Devils moved into the Top Ten this week after a 48-0 win over Hammonton. Rancocas Valley plays at home Friday night against Trenton.
