Gloucester Catholic finds its way back to top of poll after four straught wins

1.  Gloucester Catholic  (18-2) 3: The Rams bounced back from their loss to Bergen Catholic with four straight wins, including a 15-8 decision over St. Mary’s (Rutherford).
2.  Washington Twp. (15-3) 4: The Minutemen have won six straight and nine of their last 10. Alex Gattinelli belted a walk-off home run to beat Timber Creek.
3.  Lenape (15-4) 7: One of the hottest teams around, the Indians have won 13 of 14. Included in their surge are victories over Shawnee and Eastern – last week’s top two teams.
4.  St. Augustine (12-4) 6: The Hermits have won four of their last five. Junior Kevin Eaise has done the job on the hill and with the bat, while Gerry Peacock and Cole Vanderslice have emerged as two sophomores to watch.
5.  Eastern (15-4) 2: The Vikings had their nine-game winning streak snapped by Lenape on Thursday. They remain a very dangerous team, with Davis Schneider delivering at the plate like a true Player of the Year candidate.
6.  Shawnee (15-4) 1: Losses to red-hot Lenape and Cherokee on Thursday forced the Renegades to drop down in the rankings. Diamond Classic matchup against Haddon Heights on Saturday will give them a chance to bounce back quickly.
7.  Bishop Eustace (15-4) 5: The Crusaders saw their three-game winning streak snapped by Shawnee on Wednesday. Keep an eye on sophomore Matt Orlando and junior Sky Duff as they look to make a run in the Diamond Classic.
8.  Audubon (18-2) 10: The Green Wave presented longtime coach Rich Horan his 500th career victory Thursday night against Colonial rival West Deptford. Ths team has won 16 of its last 17 games, with a Diamond Classic showdown against Gloucester Catholic set for Saturday.
9.  Seneca (13-6) NR: Winners of seven straight, the Golden Eagles have beaten Lenape, Delran and Cherokee in their last three. Junior shortstop Kevin Gsell is batting .611 with three doubles, a triple and two home runs.
10. Holy Cross (15-4) NR: The Lancers are riding a nine-game winning streak, which includes two victories over a strong Delran ball club. Zac Taylor, Tim Petrucelli and Conell Roberts have helped spark the offensive attack.
