Girls soccer: Meder retires as coach at Lenape

Squads once won five straight state championships

MEDFORD - Kevin Meder, who once led the Lenape High School girls soccer team to five straight championships, has announced his retirement from coaching after 13 seasons at the school.

Meder goes out with a career record of 243-45-18, his last state title coming in 2011. His teams have won eight South Jersey Group 4 championships and eight South Jersey’s Coaches Tournament championships, a record for that competition.

The squad dipped to an 8-11 record this and took an early exit from the Group 4 Tournament.

With two children in school, Meder, 43, indicated he wanted to spend more time with his family.
